About Us

Our Story

Suncow Wealth is a full service financial planning firm – with a difference.

Our mission is to achieve certainty for our clients in retirement.

Our typical client is fifty years of age plus, and who usually have two burning questions: How much do I need to retire on and will I have enough? (Most clients don’t want to be super rich, they just want to know they’ll be ok in later life).

Suncow is a privately owned, advice based, and fee for service practice with a unique service level agreement called the Sundown Rule. Our innovative client offering means our clients receive a transparent and comprehensive advice piece with a guaranteed level of service.

Importantly, we are not tied to any financial institution. Therefore, our advice is shaped according to our client’s needs and not influenced by a parent company such as a bank.

Additionally, we do not accept rebates, commissions or volume bonuses from any investment provider. Where these are offered, we rebate them straight back to the client. This means our client’s best interests are always upheld and we deliver conflict-free advice.

Our clientele is predominantly made up of private clients and small-medium sized businesses.

Our Point of Difference

In the world of financial planning, there are two types of advisers – butchers and dietitians.

A butcher will sell you whatever he has on offer, while the dietitian will recommend what’s best for you. In other words, the butcher has a bias and the dietitian doesn’t.

Suncow plays the role of a dietitian. We view wealth creation as a pathway, not a product, because we understand every client has their own specific, individual needs depending on their life stage. Even two people within a same relationship can have different goals and aspirations, which is often.

Additionally, we operate on a fee-for-service basis which further eliminates any bias from our advice. We only do commissions if a client specifically asks for it.

The Butcher

• Has a bias
• Specialises in PRODUCTS
• Prefers commissions
• Likes to dictate

The Dietitian

• No bias
• Specialises in PATHWAYS
• Prefers ‘fee for service’
• Likes to educate

The Suncow Moowsletter.

Our second point of difference is the Suncow Moowsletter.

The Moowsletter is a weekly post that could best be likened to two blokes discussing poetry over a beer. Our goal is to remove the ‘dryness’ out of finance and turn each post into a simple, easy, understandable read that educates our subscribers, one insight at a time.

We work super hard to make the Moowsletter one of the best financial reads in Australia. Each post is our own thought piece and not one sentence is outsourced to another writer or blogger. Our subscribers love it because it is simple enough for a novice to understand but interesting enough for a veteran to enjoy.

In the words of Einstein, “If you can’t explain it simply enough, you don’t understand it well enough”.

And that’s what we do with the Moowsletter. We make finance drop dead simple to understand. Like two blokes discussing poetry over a beer.

Your First Consultation

Your initial consultation with Suncow Wealth is cost and obligation free and there are two reasons for this:

  1. Before making any recommendations, we need to make sure we can assist you, and
  2. You need to be comfortable we are the right people to help you.

The purpose of the initial meeting is for us to get a clear understanding of your goals and aspirations and why they are important to you. If at the end of that first meeting we feel we can help you, we will discuss next steps. If on the other hand we think we can’t help you, we just part as friends and leave it at that. Therefore, no fees are charged or commitments made in the first meeting.
